About this Website

This is the official ministry website and blog of Joshua Dufford, an intern with Keynote, the music and creative arts ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ.  All the contents of this website are written, designed, and maintained by Joshua Dufford.

About Me

I'm twenty-two years old, and I'm from Johnstown, Ohio.  I'm a lifelong member of the Church of the Redeemer Moravian Church in Dublin, Ohio, and a recent graduate of Ohio University in Athens, Ohio.  I graduated in June 2007 with a degree in Visual Communication and a minor in Music.

Music and design have been passions of mine for as long as I can remember. I grew up playing piano and trumpet, and spent time designing anything I could.  Now, I'm blessed to be a marching band music arranger and a designer of ads, websites, interactive media, and more.

In addition to my studies at Ohio University, I was also involved with their Campus Crusade movement.  Campus Crusade for Christ is an international ministry organization which aims to help fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) by using evangelism and discipleship to introduce people to and build their faith in Jesus Christ.  It was through my involvement with Campus Crusade that I truly realized a third passion in my life: my faith.

As I Ieft college and went out into the “real world,” I felt God was leading me to continue my involvement in ministry.  I am currently an intern with Keynote, the music and creative arts ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ.  At Keynote, I am blessed to be part of the marketing and media teams, in a role where I can use many of the visual communication skills I developed at school to be a part of the Great Commission.

About Keynote

Based in Westfield, Indiana, Keynote is the music and creative arts ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ. Keynote manages a number of bands and entertainers who tour throughout the United States and around the world. The artists perform on college campuses, at military bases, in prisons, and more.  The bands use secular music and stories from their own lives to connect with their audiences, and then use this connection to share about their faith in Christ.

In Acts 17:22-34, Paul is preaching to the Greeks, but as he is talking, he speaks in a way that the Greeks can understand.  Instead of making Biblical analogies and referencing Bible verses that would have been confusing to them, Paul references Greek poetry and uses examples that the Greeks are familiar with.

Keynote believes that in order to have the greatest impact on people’s (and specifically college students’) lives, we need to speak to them in a language they’ll understand. Paul relates to his audience by finding common ground and speaking a common language, and Keynote’s ministry is similar.  We try to relate to our audiences by finding common ground and speaking to them in a language they’ll understand.  Today’s musicians and artists are like the Greek poets of our society, and by using music, the arts, and stories from our lives, we believe that we can change people’s hearts and lives, and allow them to discover God in a unique way.
