What's happening?
There are probably about 952 different answers I could give to that question! Keynote is a pretty happening place! So, for right now, I'll just keep it to what I'm up to these days ...
KeynoteFuel
It's done! As you've more than likely already read (either here or in my update letter) this big project has finally been checked off my to do list. It was a great learning experience, and the final product has already been helpful to Keynote! It was a joy to serve Keynote and ultimately serve the Lord through the creation of this website. Check it our for yourself at www.keynotefuel.com and let me know what you think!
Keynote.org
This is Keynote's main website - the one we'd like to represent everything our ministry is, does, and believes in. The trouble is that right now, our website doesn't do that. If you visit this site now, it looks pretty cool and you can get an idea of what we're about, but it's incomplete and outdated. And (long story short) we can't easily update it ourselves. So, our goal is to create a new site - one that's complete, up to date, relevant, and interactive. One that we can update easily to keep people like you informed of what's happening at Keynote 24/7.
This project is one that our media team is tackling together. There is much to do! Right now, we're brainstorming, sketching, organizing, and basically just trying to think up the coolest ideas we can. On that note, if you've seen a website recently that you think is really cool, or that you think we might benefit from seeing, please send me an e-mail and let me know! We are open to any and all ideas right now!
Military Brochure
Over the years, a number of Keynote bands have done concerts at military bases all over the U.S., and we're looking for a way to remind military chaplains that we are here and available to serve them and their troops in this way. So, one of my next projects is to put together a small brochure or pamphlet that we can give to military chaplains so they know who we are, how we can serve them, and how to get in touch with us. (This will be another great opportunity for KeynoteFuel to be used, as we can send these chaplains there to check out our bands!)
Here's a former Keynote band playing at a base...
Summer Project
Summer Project is an event Keynote has for about 8 weeks every summer, when college students come here and essentially do what we do! The goal of the project is just to expose the students to what it's like to use their skills and talents in a full-time ministry role and to give them an opportunity to minister to others in doing so.
The student musicians who come will be put in bands, and after several weeks of rehearsal, will go out on the road for two weeks performing outreach concerts, just like our full-time bands.
I have the unique opportunity to be the tour manager for MangoFish, one of our summer project bands this summer! This means that during the weeks the band is here in Indy rehearsing, I'll be the one in touch with our concert hosts making sure we have room and board everywhere we go. And then during tour, I'll travel with them, getting us from place to place and making sure we're where we need to be when we need to be there.
And ... an added bonus this summer will be that I'll be equipped with a video camera that I can use to film the band, so we can use the footage in future promotional materials for summer project! This is all completely different (obviously) than what I'm used to doing around here, but I am super excited for the opportunity to see what this different side of Keynote is like!
